CAPACS Mourns the Loss of Fellow Commissioner Dr. Mary Cay Sengstock

The Commission on the Accreditation of Programs in Applied and Clinical Sociology (CAPACS) mourns the loss of one of its dearest colleagues, Dr. Mary Cay Sengstock, a charter member of the Commission, and one of CAPACS's most respected contributors.

Dr. Sengstock's passing is a loss to the discipline and profession of Sociology. The CAPACS Board, its colleagues, and sociologists, everywhere, have benefitted immeasurably from her numerous and notable contributions to the literature. The Commission will fondly remember Dr. Sengstock for her tenacious work and service to CAPACS, which she served so well for nearly two decades, particularly in crafting its Standards and corresponding documents. The Board will miss her, and joins everyone in sending condolences to her husband, Fred, and her family and loved ones.

Visitation for Dr. Mary Cay Sengstock was held on Monday May 12th, 2014, from 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM, at the Voran Funeral Home-Dearborn, located at 23701 Ford Road; Dearborn, MI 48128 (Tel: 313.278.5100).

Funeral services for Dr. Mary Cay Sengstock were held at the Henry Ford Village Chapel, 15101 Ford Road; Dearborn, MI 48126.
